Sunflower hearts are probably the most loved and all round type of bird food used to feed wild birds in the UK. With the husks removed, this means that the birds don’t have to crack open the shell and this is beneficial to birds with smaller beaks.
Sunflower hearts are also really popular to reduce mess underneath the birdfeeder as the birds clean up every last little bit that is dropped whilst they are feeding and also leaves the floor husk free.
Sunflower hearts are one of the most loved food sources for wild birds. Sunflower hearts are the calorie and oil rich part of the sunflower seed with the husk removed. They form the basis of many of our mixes as they are so beneficial to wild birds and preferred by the biggest range of garden birds.
