Nature in Schools.

Connecting businesses with schools to create funded wildlife habitats — giving children a real connection with the natural world, and giving businesses a genuine, visible contribution to conservation in their community.

Simple. A local business funds a wildlife habitat at a local school. We supply everything — feeders, feed, bird boxes, hedgehog houses, curriculum resources, ongoing support and a range of other options. The school pays nothing. The business gets named recognition, a local community connection and a positive impact story to tell.

How it works

STEPS:

1. A school or business registers its interest with us.

2. We help to connect a local business sponsor — or the school suggests one.

3. The business chooses a sponsorship package that suits their budget.

4. We deliver everything directly to the school — feeders, boxes, food and curriculum packs.

5. Local professional or pupils install the habitat with our step-by-step guides. The wildlife arrives. The learning begins.

SECTION 1 - FOR BUSINESSES

Put your name on nature in your community

Sponsoring Nature in Schools gives your business something most CSR activity cannot — a tangible, local, living result you can see, photograph and document. A real project at a real school, with real wildlife, and your name on it.

What you get

- Named recognition at the school

- A plaque, certificate or sign bearing your business name — visible to hundreds of families every day.

- We can also provide a press release and social media content ready to publish, written for you.

- Community goodwill.

- Parents, teachers and pupils will know it was your business that brought nature into their school. We ask the school to send out an email updating the parents with the progress from the nature installation.

- Biodiversity support. Every habitat supports real native wildlife at a time when so many species are under serious pressure.

- Staff engagement.

- A shared purpose your whole team can feel genuinely proud of.

We are Mark and Kristin Williamson, based in the Lake District, Cumbria. Together we run The Wildlife Food Company — a family run, conservation-led business supplying premium wildlife food to enthusiasts, businesses, conservation projects and schools across the UK.

We are specialists in bird seed and red squirrel food, and everything we do is driven by a belief that more people connecting with wildlife is good for nature, good for people, and good for the planet. ‘Nature in Schools’ is the most direct way we know to introduce the next generation to nature in a first hand way. Watching birds on a feeder is an introductory way of learning about the natural world.
